After almost fifty years of visiting family and taking pictures in Aberystwyth, Wales, I became aware of the bi-daily starling murmurations at the local pier. How the existence of this phenomenon was not passed-on from my father—himself an avid photographer—I will never know. During seven viewings over five days, I witnessed first-hand this "time setting" mesmerizing event. I've read that flocks number hundreds of thousands, and naturally I have no clue how many I was watching. After two hours of taking more than 1,000 pictures, this gallery represents a 62 second vignette.
